Refund Policy

Please contact us at if you need to return an item! 

Refund only applies if there is a major problem with the item as per consumer law.

For change of mind order / wrong size, we can offer you exchange or credit. Unfortunately, there will be no refund for change of mind order. 

If resizing is unavailable, a credit will be issued in place. 

Please note that there will be no return for on sale items. 

Australian consumer law: 
We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind. But you can choose a refund or exchange if an item has a major problem. This is when the item: has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it. The item is unsafe or significantly different from the sample or description, or doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can’t be easily fixed. 
Alternatively, you can choose to keep the item and we will compensate you for any drop in value. If the problem is not major, we will repair the item within a reasonable time. If it is not repaired in a reasonable time you can choose a refund or replacement. 
Please keep your proof of purchase -e.g. your receipt.


We do not offer refunds, instead, we issue a credit note or we can exchange your item for a different size or something of the same value. No credits/exchange will be issued on item/s that are not received or are lost in transit. 


  • Items must be returned within 7 days of receipt.
  • Your return parcel must be post stamped within 7 days of you receiving the order.
  • Items must be returned in their original condition including tags.
  • Once we have received your returns we will inspect them before a credit is issued.


The Dress Code have the right to deny a refund if items have been used, worn or damaged in any way and will be returned to the sender. You will be notified via email if your returned item is not appropriate for a refund.

The cost of return shipping is at the customer’s expense and is non-refundable. We recommend returning items through traceable mail, as any returned items that are not received by The Dress Code will not be issued with a refund.

If you were shipped the wrong order or a faulty item, please notify us immediately by contacting our customer care team at quote the order number and fault or incorrect item. We will send you the correct item upon receipt of proof that you have sent the wrong or faulty item back. Shipping is non-refundable except in cases where we may have made an error.



For any purchases made in our Darwin store, unfortunately we don’t offer refunds for change of mind. However we do offer exchange or an store/online credit for returns within 14 days of purchase. Returned items must be in the same condition as purchased with original tags still in place and proof of purchase must be presented.

Once the items have been received they will undergo a quality review and once cleared, you will either receive your new item (for exchanges) or a refund of purchase price (excluding original shipping cost) via the payment method used during your purchase. We endeavour to process refunds as soon as they are approved but please allow 3 working days for returns to be processed. You will receive an email notification on the status of your refund or exchange once processed.
We do not refund shipping charges unless your items are faulty. Exchanges will be resent at your cost.
